Lot 1124

1848 N-19 R6- PCGS graded Proof-63 Brown. Dark bluish steel and olive brown with very faded red bleeding through in protected areas, especially on the reverse where 20% of that side displays some mint color. The only mark is a small splash of lighter toning caused by planchet impurity at the upper right tip of star 12. The fields are reflective but the mirrors are not deep. The fine repunching above the base of the 1 and below the second 8 is clear. A nice example of this rare proof-only variety. Our grade is Proof-62. Pop 2; 4 finer at PCGS in BN.
Estimated Value $4,000-UP.

Realized $4,600
