Lot 1023

1838 N-7 R1 MS63+. Lustrous mint red fading to steel and olive brown. At least 25% of the mint color remains on the obverse, nearly half on the reverse. A perfect mate to the 38N1 offered above. This cent is a gem except for a minor stain on the rim under the 38, a tiny rim nick just right of the date, and another small rim nick left of star 2. The reverse is gem except for a small stain on the rim at the A in STATES. E-MDS. The die line from the base of the F in OF to the leaf below is clear. Another truly beautiful 1838 cent.
Estimated Value $1,000-UP.
Ex Manuel Ahumada.
