Bandinelli, Baccio. Untitled Studies of A Nude Male Torso. (1493-1560) Italian sculptor, draughtsman, and painter; an exponent of the Mannerist style. He was patronized by Cosimo I de' Medici. His works include Hercules and Cacus, Adam and Eve, and bas-reliefs in the choir of the cathedral of Florence. Bandinelli, who opened one of the first drawing academies in Renaissance Florence, said, "… in the judgement of Michelangelo, of our Princes, and other notables, it is above all in that activity that I have prevailed." Front and back studies of a standing nude male on 12 x 9 5/8" paper which is laid to card stock, approximately 15 x 11 1/2". The name Baccio Bandinelli is written at the lower edge of the card stock and on the back is: Th. 4, Fa. 34, Tu. 44, Y.
