Lot 629

1848 N-32 R5. VF-20. Five points sharper with some light nicks on the face and neck, none notable but too many to ignore. A pair of very tiny rim nicks over star 7 and two more over CA in AMERICA can help identify this cent. Nice glossy chocolate brown. An attractive example of this rare variety, one that is seldom nearly impossible to locate in high grade. MDS. The die crack on the reverse is clear. Tied with one other piece for CC#2 honors in the Grellman census.
Estimated Value $400-UP.
Ex Jim Bird 9/04-Phyllis Thompson.

Realized $374
