Lot 608

1848 N-9 R1. MS-60. Frosty olive brown and chocolate with lighter olive brown toning on the devices and sea-green overtones in protected areas. Possibly dipped long ago and retoned, but the satiny luster is unbroken and the eye appeal is excellent. A speck of darker toning at the dentils over star 5 is the only mark. Nicely struck EDS, die state a, before any die cracks on the reverse. Tied for CC#7.
Estimated Value $400-UP.
Ex Doug Bird 1998-Phyllis Thompson.
