1848 N-4 R4+. ANACS graded AU-50. Grossly Repunched Date. Glossy light olive and chocolate brown with a splash of reddish olive toning at TAT in STATES and frosty luster peeking through in protected areas on the reverse. Smooth surfaces with just a few contact marks, including a thin nick just right of star 3 and a light rim bruise over the first T in STATES. MDS, die state b. The repunching is clear on all 4 digits of the date but no longer shows inside the triangle of the 4. Our grade is VF35 net VF30. The attribution is shown on the ANACS label.
