Lot 593

1847 N-30 R4. VF-30. Repunched 1. Slightly sharper with a few microscopic contact marks on the cheek, a small spot of dark toning just right of star 4, and microscopic traces of verdigris left of the U in UNITED. None of these defects is at all significant and this cent offers excellent eye appeal for the grade. MDS, die state b, with a tiny lump resting on top of the wreath ribbon loop but before the rim cud at the bottom of the reverse. A decent example of a variety that seldom comes in high grade. Only a single mint state example is known.
Estimated Value $100-UP.
Ex Jim Huffman 1994-Phyllis Thompson.

Realized $184
