Lot 583

1847 N-19 R1. MS-60. Repunched 4. Lustrous bluish steel and light chocolate brown with 5% of the obverse showing mint red while 25% of the reverse displays original mint color. Excellent eye appeal for the grade, just a few trivial marks from choice. The notable marks are a small nick on the right end of the eyebrow, a faint hairline through the top of the 1, and a thin nick on the throat. MDS, die state b. The repunching on the crossbar of the 4 is clear. The ribbon loop below EN in CENT is not fully struck due to a minor die clog at that spot. Tied for CC#7.
Estimated Value $400-UP.
