1840 N-1 R1. MS-60. Small Date. Attractive lustrous chocolate and steel with traces of faded mint red showing on both sides. The surfaces are satiny and virtually flawless offering outstanding eye appeal for the grade. A spot of slightly darker toning at the right corner of the eye and another on the right side of the first T in STATES are the best identifying marks. MDS, die state b. The delicate repunching under the 8 is gone. Tied for CC#6.
