1803 S-247 R3. VF-25 Plus. Mumps Obverse. Sharpness EF40 but this cent was lightly cleaned and is retoned glossy steel brown and dark chocolate. The surfaces are smooth and attractive except for a few tiny pitmarks right of the date, a rather large pinprick in the field off the tip of the nose, a couple hairlines over ENT in CENT, and patches of microscopic roughness at the fraction and OF. The "Mumps" break at the throat is clear. Sharply struck LDS, Breen state III early. The die crack at NIT is clear and another clear crack reaches from the dentils to the U but this crack does not extend to the dentils over the adjacent N.
