1799 S-189 R2 PCGS graded "Genuine". Sharpness at least VG10 but covered with moderate to strong granularity. No verdigris, and the only marks are some faint vertical hairline scratches on the portrait. Chocolate and lighter brown with a few areas of shallow dark olive and steel scale in a couple places on both sides. Most likely cleaned and retoned. The date is complete and clear, and the legends are easily readable. The strong date is a significant plus for this cent while the surfaces provide a formidable counterpoint. Our grade is net AG3+, close to G4.
