Lot 351

1797 S-131 R2. PCGS graded VF-35. Stemless Wreath. Glossy chocolate and steel brown. The only notable mark is a small dig on the bust tip and a thin nick in the field off the chin. Otherwise the surfaces and eye appeal of this cent are excellent. M-LDS, Breen state IV, with parallel vertical die cracks in the field before the portrait in addition to the usual bold die crack from the dentils behind the head. The date and legends are bold, and the stemless wreath feature is strong. Our grade is VF20. Near the lower end of the condition census for this popular "Redbook" variety.
Estimated Value $1,000-UP.

Realized $2,990
