1797 S-128 R3. VF-25. M over E in AMERICA. Ten points sharper but there are numerous very tiny rim nicks around both sides, none significant but too many to ignore. Otherwise there are only a few tiny ticks here and there, mostly in the field behind the portrait. The surfaces are free of any hint of corrosion or verdigris. Glossy chocolate and steel brown. Sharply struck M-LDS, Breen state VIII. Numerous die cracks show at the bust and in the field at the lower curls. The M over E feature is obvious. A sharp, attractive example of this popular variety.
