1876-CC $20. VF-30. Moderate light scratches. A popular Mint of issue, Carson City opened in 1870, with increasing numbers of $20 gold pieces made each year as production ramped up. 1876-CC is the last of the Type 2 pieces; the Mint made a top-to-bottom modification of the designs which it introduced in 1877 (known as the Type 3 double eagle).
