Vostok 1, 1961, Gagarin Autograph. On the front page of the April 12th, 1961 issue of the Soviet newspaper "Izvestiya" ("News") which was dovoted to Gagarin's launch. This newspaper is a collector's item in its own right. To locate one that Gagarin has signed in a near impossibility. He has inscribed it: "Big Greetings to the readers of Izvestiya. Gagarin". The paper is in excellent overall condition due to its having been saved by a Soviet fan the past 45 or so years - just like July 20, 1969 "Moon Landing" newspapers have been saved by Americans. A great find!
