Jumbo Photo of Michael Jackson With President and Mrs. Reagan. Unsigned jumbo print photo, approximately 18½ x 23½ inches, taken at the White House on May 14, 1984 when Michael Jackson joined the Reagans for a ceremony honoring a campaign for drunk driving awareness. Jackson and the Reagans are smiling and in good spirits. Stamped on the back is "Official Photograph / The White House / Washington, D.C." Below the stamp and written in pencil is an nventory number and the date. Through many presidential administrations, it has been usual to see jumbo prints of special events and guests involving the President lining the hallways of the West Wing of the White House. They appeared on the walls within a couple of days of the event and would remain until they were replaced by photos of more current events. Staff who may have been involved in the event or had a special interest in the guest or event would write their name on the back of the photo and it would be given to a staffer when it was replaced with a more current print. There are a couple of tiny scratches on Mrs. Reagan's face and one on the lower edge of her suit jacket. The photo is in the same 19¼ x 24½ wood frame (no glass) in which it hung at the White House.
