Naval French Percussion Pistol. An 1849 French Navy pistol measuring 12" overall with a 61/2" barrel. The lockplate, hammer, barrel and ramrod are steel, and the trigger guard and butt plate are brass. The lockplate is inscribed with manufacturers name "Mre Rle de Tulle". Let it be noted that the captive ramrod mechanism is loose, as the opening in the stock where the ramrod is housed has slightly enlarged over time. The overall condition of this pistol is very good, with three minor nicks on the left side of the stock.
Estimated Value $700 - 1,100.
