Puccini, Giacomo (1858-1924) Italian composer; his most famous operas are La Bohème, Tosca, Madama Butterfly, and Turandot. Autograph Musical Quotation Signed on a 2 3/8 x 3 5/8 in. card. Three darkly penned bars, being the opening of Mimi's aria: "Mi chiamano Mimi" from La Bohème. Dated 1917. Very fine; old pasting remnants on verso. La Bohème debuted at the Teatro Regio in Turin on Feb. 1, 1896, with Arturo Toscanini conducting. It is one of the most frequently performed operas in the world.
