Rothschild Family. Three Autograph Letters in French, two signed "G[ustave] de Rothschild" (on stationery with the Rothschild crest) and one signed "A[nselme] de Rothschild" with a postscript signed "Anselme," 5 pp total, 8vo, one datelined Paris, Dec. 1870, the others with no place or date. Both men were members of the powerful Rothschild banking family. Anselme (1803-74) writes regarding a stone lithograph. Gustave (1829-1911) writes one letter during the Franco-Prussian War to a government minister requesting passes for himself and his brother, as railroad administrators, so they can "survey the measures which interest the Company." His second letter regards a monetary transaction.
