Nero, AD 54-68. Brass Contorniate (27.91 g) struck at Constantinople, AD 360-425. Laureate head right of Nero; behind head, incuse. Reverse: Bacchus reclining left in car drawn by panthers; in front of Bacchus, aulos player. Alfõldi 130. Rare. Very Fine.

While most contorniates, or gaming or good luck tokens, are fashioned from bronze, this one is of orichalcum (brass), and is quite unusual.
