Nero, AD 54-68. Gold Aureus (7.30 g) minted at Rome, c. AD 64-65. Laureate head right of Nero. Reverse: Jupiter seated left on throne, holding thunderbolt and scepter. RIC 52; BMC 67. Nearly Extremely Fine.
Because of its beautiful and deep reddish toning, attribution to the Bosco Reale hoard of 1895 is probable.
