Julius Caesar, died 44 BC. AR Denarius, Rome mint. Struck in late February 44 BC before Caesar's assassination; P. Sepullius Macer, moneyer. Wreathed head right of Caesar; behind, star of eight rays. Reverse: Venus standing left, holding Victory and scepter with plain tip. Crawford 480/5a; Syd 1071a. Possessing none of the faults which so often plague this issue. Choice Very Fine.
