M. Junius Brutus, moneyer, 54 BC. AR Denarius minted at Rome. Head right of Libertas. Reverse: The consul L. Junius Brutus walking left between two lictors, preceded by an accensus. Cr. 433/1; Syd. 906; Junia 31. NGC graded AU: Strike 5/5; Surface 4/5, hairlines. Our grade is Extremely Fine, with an inconsequential reverse edge bump.

Struck by Brutus as moneyer, later to become one of the assassins of Julius Caesar.
