1873 Dollar Octagonal Indian. Breen and Gillio-1123. High Rarity 4. PCGS graded MS-62. Soothing golden toning and sparkling semi-reflective surfaces are evident on both sides. We note a minor obverse scratch behind the Indian's portrait. An attractive mint state example of the variety. The plate coin for the second edition of Breen-Gillio (to illustrate State I). Struck from perfect reverse dies, without the crack on from the rim to the wreath left of DOLLAR. Pop 15; 20 finer (PCGS # 10934) .
