1876 Half Dollar Round Indian. Breen and Gillio-1062. Rarity 7. NGC graded MS-61 PL. Primarily untoned with a splash of rose color about the devices here and there on both sides. Shimmering prooflike surfaces add to the appeal of this rare variety. A beautiful, Large Indian Head type. Almost on a par with the Jay Roe piece at PCGS MS62. Discovered by the Doerings sometime prior to the publication of their 1980 reference book. NGC census: Pop 1; 1 finer in 65PL.
