1873 Quarter Dollar Octagonal Liberty. Breen and Gillio-727. High Rarity 4. PCGS graded MS-65. Old Green Holder. Mostly untoned with a splash of golden color on both sides. The plate coin for the second edition of Breen-Gillio. A light, horizontal crack runs across the bottom of the reverse, indicating a late (possibly terminal) state of the dies. This variety was first published in 1884 in The Coin Collector's Journal. A blazing gem example. Pop 10; 6 finer, 5 in 66, 1 in 67 (PCGS # 10554) .
