AR Denar, 3.3g, dated Year 2 (133/4 C.E.). Bunch of grapes, surrounded by Hebrew inscription"Simon." Reverse: Upright palm branch, with inscription "Year Two of the Freedom of Israel." H-695, Mild 41, AJC 31a. With clear traces of underlying Roman inscriptions on both sides, as well as the profile of the Emperor (Trajan or Hadrian?) beneath the grapes. Virtually as struck. About Extremely Fine.
