Lot 135

1793 S-6 R3. Wreath Cent. Fine-12. Sharpness EF40 but covered with light corrosion. The roughness was lightly smoothed in the field before the portrait. No verdigris, and the only contact marks are a couple minor rim bruises, the strongest of these well left of the date. Mostly glossy chocolate brown with slightly lighter toning on the highpoints. The date and legends are complete and strong in spite of the roughness. MDS with the usual swelling in the field behind the portrait (the so-called "Sprung Die" variety).
Estimated Value $1,000 - 1,500.

Realized $1,725
