1819 N-5 R3 PCGS graded MS64BN. PCGS graded MS-64 Brown. Attractive lustrous light to medium brown. There are a couple microscopic ticks just right of the eye, a tiny wisp of darker toning in the field right of the main curl, and similar darker chocolate toning at the tops of the I and E in UNITED. Great eye appeal, just a hint of friction on the highest points of the design from mint state. LDS with microscopic die flowlines covering the obverse fields creating attractive cartwheel luster. This is the Newcomb plate coin for the variety. Called MS60 and finest confirmed of the variety in the Bland census. Noyes says AU55 and tied for CC#1. Our grade is AU58, very close to MS60. PCGS Population 1; none finer.
Estimated Value $3,000-UP.
