Lot 627

1810 S-285 R2. EF-40. Turban Head. Fine Double Profile. Frosty olive brown and chocolate delicately mixed with subtle tones of reddish chocolate. The surfaces are covered with fine flowline luster leaving an attractive satiny appearance. There are a few barely visible specks of greenish and dark olive brown verdigris hidden in protected areas on both sides, including a tiny one between the 8 and second 1 in the date, but the surfaces are smooth. The only contact marks are a few light nicks along the bottom edge of the bust. M-LDS, Breen state III. There is a fine double profile on the tip of the nose, upper lip, chin, and neck (caused by die bounce). The obverse is very slightly misaligned to K-11 while the reverse is properly centered on the planchet. Removed from an NGC slab graded AU55BN (NGC label included).
Estimated Value $2,000 - 3,000.
Ex Chris McCawley 1/05.

Realized $2,070
