1810/09 S-281 R1. EF-45. Turban Head. Overdate 10 over 09. Frosty olive and dark steel brown. Sharply struck with excellent eye appeal. Looks AU50 but a glass reveals a few thin, short parallel scratches hidden in the hair. These marks are easily missed and are not distracting at all. The only other marks are a light scratch near the dentils at stars 3-4 and a couple thin, light nicks at the bust tip, plus a tiny planchet flake at the left side of star 2. The surfaces are satiny and the planchet quality is outstanding. E-MDS, Breen state III. The overdate is bold. Struck very slightly off center to K-5.
