Lot 591

1798 S-179 R2. EF-40. Style II Hair with Small 8. Blundered E in AMERICA. Choice glossy chocolate and steel with satiny luster showing through in protected areas, especially on the reverse. Just a few trivial marks, including a tiny rim nick under the bust, a dull horizontal nick over the C in CENT, and another minor contact mark at the end of the ribbon end right of the fraction. The E in AMERICA was first punched backwards, then corrected, and that error is clear. M-LDS, Breen state IV. A very nice example offering sharp details and excellent eye appeal.
Estimated Value $2,000 - 3,000.
