1796 S-91 R3. VF-35. Liberty Cap. Five points sharper but there are a few light rim bruises on both sides. The notable ones are over the B in LIBERTY and under the left side of the fraction. Otherwise the surfaces and eye appeal are excellent, smooth and void of any trace of corrosion or verdigris. Glossy chocolate and steel with lighter brown on the highpoints of the portrait. MDS, Breen state III late. The linear die flaws and minor swelling in the obverse fields are clear. Called EF40 net VF30 and tied for CC#11 in the Noyes census, his photo #34594. Removed from a PCGS slab graded AU53 (PCGS label included).
