Lot 575

1796 S-90 R5+. VG-8. Liberty Cap. Rotated Reverse. A couple points sharper with microscopic granularity covering the planchet. No verdigris, and the minor roughness is partially hidden under a slightly glossy medium olive brown patina. The only marks are a few old, faint vertical hairline scratches in the left obverse field and a light rim bruise right of the Y in LIBERTY. EDS, Breen state I. The reverse is rotated 165 degrees CCW from a normal head-to-foot orientation. The date is strong and the legends are complete. Removed from a PCGS slab graded F12 (PCGS label included).
Estimated Value $3,000 - 5,000.
Ex Jules Reiver-Steve Fischer 10/17/05.

Realized $3,450
