1795 S-76a R5. VF-25. Lettered Edge with ONE CENT High. At least ten points sharper with a rim dent under the 95 in the date, several additional lighter rim bruises on both sides, and a thin vertical nick in the field off the chin. Otherwise the surfaces are excellent and the details are sharp. Frosty dark olive brown and steel delicately mottled with traces of lighter brown. MDS, Breen state II, with delicate die clashmarks on both sides. Called VF35 net VF25 and CC#4 in the Bland census. Noyes says VF35 net F15 and tied for CC#5, his photo #23973. Removed from an NGC slab graded AU53BN (NGC label included, and it shows the attribution and Rasmussen provenance).
