Lot 542

1794 S-63 R2. EF-40. Choice glossy chocolate brown. Smooth, virtually flawless surfaces offering outstanding eye appeal. The only marks are microscopic and wholly insignificant, but a small low spot that weakens the top of the E in STATES (caused by a bit of debris on the die) is a good identifying mark. MDS, Breen state II, with the usual die clashmarks at the throat and temple. Called EF40 and tied for CC#7 in the Noyes census, his photo #30761. Bland says EF40 as well but tied for CC#12.
Estimated Value $4,000-UP.
