Lot 528

1794 S-49 R2. VF-20. Glossy light olive and chocolate brown. No corrosion or verdigris, but there are numerous light nicks scattered over both sides. Otherwise this piece would be close to VF25. The notable marks are a tiny planchet fissure (as struck) between the A & M in AMERICA and a dull rim nick over that A. LDS. The obverse die crack is strong and a dull wave in the field slants up from the end of the nose. The reverse is slightly misaligned to the upper right causing weakness at S-OF-AM while everything else is clear.
Estimated Value $1,000 - 1,500.
Ex Fred H. Borcherdt 3/95.

Realized $1,610
