Lot 384

1837 N-9 R1 PCGS graded MS65BN. PCGS graded MS-65 Brown. Beaded Hair Cord, Head of 1838. Lustrous light olive and medium brown with subtle hints of sea green overtone. Faded mint color shows in the protected areas on both sides, especially on the reverse where at least 10% of that side shows faded original red. LDS, similar to the preceding lot, but if anything the cracks and cuds are even stronger on this example. The added die lines at the dentils are strong. Called MS60 and tied for CC#11 in the Noyes census, his photo #36912. Our grade is MS63. PCGS Population 3; 3 finer in 66BN.
Estimated Value $700-UP.
Ex Baldwin (London) 11/46-Willard C. Blaisdell 9/76-Del Bland 9/76.

Realized $1,323
