1835 N-16 R2 PCGS graded MS64BN. PCGS graded MS-64 Brown. Head of 1836. Lustrous medium chocolate and steel brown with slightly faded mint color covering the protected areas on both sides. Darker steel brown toning shows on the highpoints of the face. There are a few small splashes of darker toning around star 3, a small one in the field over star 10, and more inside the E in AMERICA. In addition, there is a small clump of reddish chocolate wax or similar substance stuck in the hair over the Y in LIBERTY. Might flick off, might not. MDS with fine radial flowlines covering the fields and a strong double profile from the top of the forehead down to the chin (from die bounce). Strong doubling also shows on the inner ear and on stars 11-13. Called MS60+ and tied for CC#1 in the Bland census. Noyes says MS60 net AU55, his photo #21690. Our grade is MS60+. PCGS Population 1; 1 finer in 65BN.
