1835 N-14 R2 AU58. AU-58. Head of 1836. Mint state sharpness but lightly cleaned and retoned glossy light golden brown on the obverse and light chocolate brown with faded red bleeding through in protected areas on the reverse. The only marks are a few very faint stains of slightly darker toning at the chin and near the dentils at stars 3-5. LDS with clear die clashmarks inside the wreath, including a raised impression of the inside the ear under the right side of the N in ONE. This is the Newcomb plate coin for the obverse of the variety. Called net AU50 in the Noyes census, his photo #21826.
