1835 N-14 R2 PCGS graded MS65RB. PCGS graded MS-65 Red & Brown. Head of 1836. Frosty mint red mellowing to light steel brown, most of the mint color remaining on both sides. Essentially a flawless faded red cent with outstanding eye appeal. There are a few microscopic specks of dark toning between the throat and star 1, another near the leaf below the U in UNITED, and a tiny tick near the dentils under the ribbon end. M-LDS. The swelling in the field at the dentils near star 10 is gone but the tiny lump on the base of the T in CENT is still visible, although barely. There is minor doubling on the ear, curls below the bun, and on stars 5-9 and 11-13 (from die bounce). Called MS67 choice and CC#1 in the Noyes census, his photo b#36392. Bland says MS65+ and tied for CC#1. Our grade is MS66. PCGS Population 1; none finer.
