Lot 293

1834 N-1 R1 PCGS graded MS66RB. PCGS graded MS-66 Red & Brown. Small 8, Large Stars, Medium Letters. Lustrous steel brown and light chocolate with 15% of the bright original mint color remaining. Just a few microscopic marks, including a trio of very tiny spots of reddish chocolate toning right of star 5. The eye appeal of this cent is outstanding. MDS with fine die flowlines covering the fields on both sides and the reverse rotated 10 degrees CW. The always present die cracks on both sides are clear. Called MS65 and tied for CC#1 in the Bland census. Noyes says MS63 and tied for CC#2, his photo #36900. Our grade is MS64+, close to MS65. PCGS Population 1; none finer.
Estimated Value $4,000-UP.
Ex T. James Clarke 10/54.
