Lot 292

1834 N-1 R1 PCGS graded MS65BN. PCGS graded MS-65 Brown. Small 8, Large Stars, Medium Letters. Bold Triple Profile. Lustrous light chocolate brown with a large splash of darker olive and bluish steel toning on the right side of the reverse. Traces of faded mint color are bleeding through in protected areas of the obverse. The obverse offers outstanding eye appeal but the uneven toning on the reverse detracts from that side. The only marks are a tiny planchet chip on the cheek over the nostril (as struck) and a faint diagonal hairline scratch in the field off the tip of the nose. E-MDS with a strong triple profile from the forelock down to the chin. The repunching inside the C in AMERICA is clear and the reverse is rotated 15 degrees CW. Called MS60 and tied for CC#5 in the Noyes census, his photo #36901. Our grade is MS62+, close to MS63. PCGS Population 1; none finer.
Estimated Value $1,000-UP.
Ex Glendenning's-Taft-Spink's (London)-Stack's-J. Cohen 2/57-Emanuel Taylor 10/60.
