1833 N-5 R1 PCGS graded MS64RB. PCGS graded MS-64 Red & Brown. Repunched 8, the so-called "Horned 8." Bright original mint red starting to fade to steel brown on the highpoints, about 80% of the original color showing on both sides. A spot of chocolate brown toning in the field close to the tip of the nose is the only significant mark, but there are several additional smaller spots of similar toning sprinkled into the field before the portrait. MDS with the reverse rotated 30 degrees CW. The repunching on the 8 is obvious and the repunching on ICA remains visible. Called MS65+ and CC#3 in the Bland census. Noyes says MS65 and tied for CC#1, his photo #36416. Our grade is MS65. PCGS Population 1; 2 finer in 65RB.
Estimated Value $2,000-UP.
