Lot 257

1831 N-7 R1 PCGS graded MS65BN. PCGS graded MS-65 Brown. Large Letters Reverse. Very choice and highly lustrous bluish steel brown and light olive with faded mint red in the protected areas, about 15% of the reverse showing faded original color. Satiny mint frost covers the entire surface and the eye appeal of this cent is outstanding. A gem cent in every respect. A microscopic tick midway between stars 7 & 8 is the only mark I can find to help identify this cent. E-MDS with fine die flowlines in the fields but before the crumbling in the notch on the right side of the R in AMERICA. Called MS65 choice and tied for CC#1 in the Noyes census, his photo #21305. Bland says MS65 and tied for CC#1 as well. Our grade is MS65. Ted's envelope includes a note that reads "Jerry Bobbe wants this." PCGS Population 1; none finer.
Estimated Value $2,000-UP.
Ex Thomas L. Elder 9/21/1935:1523-Willard C. Blaisdell (part of his date set) 9/76-Del Bland 9/76.
