Lot 254

1831 N-6 R1 PCGS graded MS65BN. PCGS graded MS-65 Brown. Large Letters Reverse. Choice lustrous light bluish steel brown with excellent eye appeal. The only marks are a microscopic nick across the top of the L in LIBERTY, another on the bottom edge of the bust above the 8, and a third on the C in CENT. A speck of darker toning right of the F in OF is a good identifying mark. MDS. There are fine die flowlines in the fields near the dentils on the obverse and microscopic die rust covers much of the wreath (this reverse die was used in two earlier marriages and always shows some die rust in this marriage). Called MS63 choice and tied for CC#1 in the Noyes census, his photo #31898. Our grade is MS60+. PCGS Population 2; none finer.
Estimated Value $1,000-UP.
Ex Dr. Thomas J. Turissini (gift to Ted at the 1995 EAC Convention) 4/22/95.
