1869, $20 United States Note. PCGS Currency Fine 12. . Fr-127. . KL-526. High grade Rainbow Twenties are available from a few small runs that are known to have been saved at the time of issue, but they are prohibitively expensive to the average collector. Less expensive circulated examples, on the other hand, are apt to be damaged or plagued with problems. This piece is a welcome exception, as the colors and eye appeal are that of a note that grades far higher than this example. The moderate circulation that this piece obviously endured in the channels of commerce left it no worse for the wear, and the eye appeal is sufficient to please almost any collector. This piece could bring much more than a typical example in this grade, as it truly represents a nice, above average example for the grade.
