1882 Morgan Dollar. PCGS graded Proof 64 Deep Cameo. Among the more boldly defined Proofs in the series, this scintillating 1882-dated Morgan dollar breaks the trend of poorer detail found on Proof Trade Dollars of the same year and displays uncommon sharpness on all the highest points of the design with every hair wave finely displayed. Even the normal softness on the eagle's breast seen on Proofs minted in the early 1890s (where quality control sometimes lapsed) is entirely absent. Both sides are graced by natural shades of delicate toning. If this were alive, one might almost say it has a strong constitution and a healthy glow! Pop 6; 6 finer; 3 in 65; 3 in 66. (PCGS # 97317) .
Estimated Value $5,000 - 5,400.
