Galba, 68-69 AD. AR Denarius (3.5g). Very rare. Spanish mint (Tarraco?). GALBA IMPERATOR, laureate head of Galba facing right, small globe at base of bust. Reverse: VIRTVS, Virtus standing left holding Victory and parazonium. RIC unlisted, but may be a new mule variety combining a 3b obverse legend with a Virtus reverse type that is listed in the RIC as being associated only with 1e obverse legends. Attractive Spanish portrait style. Some minor discoloration across the obverse (removable?). Very Fine.
