Lot 198

ASTP, 1975, Fisher Space Pen (5") A similar, two part ribbed pen, but with the name "Fisher" inscribed on the pocket clip and no "style" marking on the pen. There is a remnant of red tape wrapped around the pocket clip and a red stain on the upper barrel where the tape touched the barrel. The enclosed, working cartridge appears to be brass and is unmarked. The lower barrel of the pen shows some signs of use.

Our gut says that this pen looks as if it might have been FLOWN, but there is no evidence of that fact except that Slayton thought to give it to his family after the flight. Just one of life's many mysteries.
Estimated Value $500 - 750.
Ex. the astronaut Donald "Deke" Slayton Family collection.
